LimeLing
I have just performed a software upgrade via a memory stick, and I am now operating on the August 24 version. I observed that the guideline announcements are at a diminished level compared to prior to the upgrade, nevertheless I cannot locate any method to modify the volume. Likewise, the camera alert is much quieter and is inaudible over the radio. I am certain that I previously adjusted both of these settings under the navigation options; but, after an exhaustive search, I am unable to locate any controls anymore. Has anybody else had the same issue and successfully resolved it?
Cleverco
I do not possess a Sorento, nor do I have any current issues with my Soul EV; however, on a previous vehicle (not a KIA), adjusting the volume during announcements permanently altered the volume level. Additionally, there may be a speed-based sound compensation feature; in my Soul, it is located in the "Sounds" or "Audio" menu. I cannot recall the exact designation, but it is not among the media player volume options, rather it is found under "System". It cannot be adjusted; it is only either on or off, and seems to have little impact on the Soul EV. Does it reduce the audio volume while navigation, and if not, did it previously do so? If the navigation system is malfunctioning, temporarily unplugging the 12v battery may reset it. Merely some rambling thoughts before to retiring for the night. LimeLing
Thank you for the recommendations. Cleverco I attempted to increase the loudness during the announcements, but it proved ineffective. I tried it with the steering wheel, so I may try again with the primary volume control, in case it yields a different outcome. I recall a previous menu option that, when modified, emitted a message stating “guidance will be at THIS volume,” allowing for a selection of the optimal setting. It is odd that this has vanished. I discovered the option to reduce entertainment volume when the guide activates, although it remains lower than my preference. I value your contribution. Meltarb
If I recall well, the navigation interface has a settings/options button located at the bottom left of the screen, which enables volume adjustment, positioned on the left side, if I am not mistaken. It has been around six months since I completed mine.
LimeLing
Thank you. I believe you are accurate; however, I checked there, and it seems to be gone now. I am certain that I have overlooked something, since it seems to be an evident need.
Cleverco
I am curious if it is feasible to revert to a previous firmware/software version; it may be prudent to enquire if someone is still using the old version and if they might submit a file to a sharing site for your download. Indeed, there is no assurance that the updater software will let an earlier version to supersede a newer one; but, it is worth trying. I will convey your concerns to the local dealer or directly to UK headquarters; upon notification, they may rectify this problem in the next update. Meltarb
I shall examine mine over the weekend. I am certain that when it was in operation, the choice was available, but I cannot remember its location. Mine has undergone many updates, so I will verify.

Videoman
Activating the symbol displays the Guidance Volume controls. The sound choices for my automobile are located in the settings menu. If absent, the media system may need a reboot using the reset button, often concealed behind a tiny aperture in the fascia, generally next to the rotary volume control. Meltarb
I examined the sound settings upon acquiring mine and discovered nothing; what you presented above resembles what I found to resolve it. I am using the most recent upgrade they implemented.
