My Kia Niro 2 Hybrid is free from the congestion fee.

Greetings, individuals. I reside in London and have just acquired a 2020 Kia Niro 1.6 Hybrid, specifically the non-plug-in variant.

Yesterday, I drove my vehicle through a congestion charge zone and attempted to pay the fee on the Transport for London (TFL) website, as I usually do with my other car. However, I was unable to complete the payment since the vehicle is exempt from the charge.
Upon inputting the registration plate, I get the following message:

"White KIA NIRO 2 HEV S-A."

According to the vehicle data provided and the current records of the DVLA and TfL, this vehicle is not required to pay the Congestion Charge, the ULEZ, and the LEZ. It is important to regularly verify whether there is a fee required for driving inside the designated zone(s).

To the best of my knowledge, only fully electric cars are exempt. Do you have any opinions or reflections on this matter?
I am unable to continue with the payment.

Thank you.

Take a screenshot of this message since tfl's data system is unreliable, and you may get a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) in the mail at a later time. Also, welcome to the forum.
Obtained from the official Transport for London (TFL) website.
Discount for environmentally-friendly vehicles
(Previously known as the Ultra Low Emission Discount (ULED))
Only cars powered by battery electric or hydrogen fuel cell technology are eligible for the cleaner vehicle incentive. Starting on December 25, 2025, the discount for cleaner vehicles will no longer be available. Starting from this day, all vehicle owners, unless they qualify for another discount or exemption, will be required to make a payment in order to enter the Congestion Charge zone during the designated charging hours.
To avail of a discount, you may submit an application online. However, you must provide certain documentation as evidence of your eligibility for the discount.

I have recently submitted the registration on the TFL Check Vehicle website. The vehicle was recognised as a Kia Sportage GT-Line ISG HEV Auto, and it was confirmed to be exempt from the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ). Nevertheless, it is subject to Congestion Charges.

Thank you for the responses. This is my perspective.

It seems to be a clear mistake. I will try to contact them tomorrow since I really do not want to get a parking charge notice.

It is possible that you are correct. I purchased the vehicle from Cargiant on Wednesday, but it did not come with a logbook. As a result, I had to complete the V62 form on Thursday. It may take some time for the logbook to be updated accurately. I want to make a phone call tomorrow to inform them.
