NameInterest
Is there someone available to provide assistance? I have recently purchased a Citan vehicle and I am experiencing some issues with the lights. Specifically, the indicators on the right side remain on constantly and the window wipers are not functioning. Additionally, the light switch does not have any effect, except when I activate the fog lights, which allows me to use both indicators as usual. Furthermore, I noticed that there was water in the front foot wells, but I have since dried them out. On the passenger side, I found a wiring loom and plug, which I also dried out. I am now wondering if this water damage could have caused any damage to the vehicle's modules. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

AmericaMonster
The front SAM may have been exposed to moisture, which may cause issues with the electrical system in contemporary networked cars. It is crucial to locate a somebody with extensive electrical expertise and access to Xentry diagnostic tools. Unfortunately, I am not aware of any such professionals in Liverpool. NameInterest
I have scheduled an appointment on Wednesday for the comprehensive diagnostic. I have identified both of the components: one is positioned below the glove box and the other is situated behind the steering column. Thank you for your response, AmericaMonster

Banman
What was the resolution to your issue, if any? Currently, I am experiencing a similar problem. The Snap-on tool indicates the presence of a N80 steering module, which I presume is the black rectangular item seen in one of your photographs. The other one refers to the BCM. Banman
And how did you get to steering module ?
NameInterest
The component in question is located just above the steering column and can be easily removed by unclipping it. This resolved my issue and now all lights and indicators are functioning properly. You may be able to get a replacement on eBay. I recommend removing your current component first to ensure that you find the exact model number.
NameInterest
To locate it, remove any plastics from behind the steering column. Once cleared, you will find it positioned directly behind the column. Use a light source to illuminate the area. It is likely that the component may be accessed by pushing it upwards.
Banman
Thank you for your response! Currently, the indicators, window wipers, headlamp selection switch, and the push button for MPG and other functions are not functioning. The headlights are continuously illuminated, and when I connected it to a snap-on diagnostic tool, it indicated that there is a short circuit or open circuit on lines 1 to 5 of the N80 steering column switch. I will examine it tomorrow.
NameInterest
Indeed, the solution to my problem was to ensure that there is no water present in the footwells of both the passenger and driver seats. In my case, the footwells were completely saturated with water. The issue arose when someone used a high-pressure water jet to clean the rear of the van, causing water to seep beneath both seats and damage the module. If you have a similar situation and want assistance, feel free to contact me.
Banman
I did not see any water in the footwells, particularly not under the floor mats. Is it the location you are referring to? I had previously removed the bcm module and found that everything was completely dry. Tomorrow, I will examine the steering module. It is peculiar how the presence of water on the floor caused the module to malfunction, namely the modules located near the steering wheel. Thank you once again for your responses. NameInterest
Inspect the rubber pad in the footwell to ensure it is not lifting. Examine the whole footwell area for any signs of moisture. Although my module remained dry, the presence of wet wires in the footwell caused it to malfunction. It is crucial to address and resolve the underlying cause of the moisture to prevent any damage. ππΌ
