Micobe
The rear wheel bearing hub of the 2007 Kia Ceed. Hello, I need the replacement of the rear hub bearing on my vehicle. This is not due to the bearing itself failing, but rather because the ABS wheel located at the end of the bearing has undergone corrosion and decay. This phenomenon occurs due to the absence of a cap or cover on the rear, resulting in the ingress of water. I contacted Kia, who informed me that they were unaware of the specific component in question and sent me with a graphic that did not depict the item. Micobe
I am unwilling to repair the bearing until I am able to prevent water infiltration. Thank you in advance.
Bleakerje
Observe the central point on the diagram. Observe the numeral 52730A and go to the left, where it seems to be the cover.
Micobe
Hello Bleakerje, are you referring to 41780?
Bleakerje
There are two component numbers, namely 52752 and 51752, assigned to the hub and rear hub cover, respectively.
Micobe
This is all a component of the hub. Here is an image of the latest one.
Bleakerje
Indeed, I am able to see that the diagnostic picture does not enlarge for me. However, with careful examination, I can deduce that it is identical to your previous photograph of the hub. (Y)
Micobe
I am inquiring if the individual on the phone made an error and it is really part 51780.I intend to make a phone call and engage in a face-to-face conversation, since my first attempt to contact someone on Monday morning was met with a lack of enthusiasm. The only alternative I can conceive is using JB weld and a sheet metal component to effectively seal it. It would be unfortunate, since I am certain that there must be a component. Despite doing searches on platforms such as Youtube and Ebay, I have been unable to locate any comparable items.
Bleakerje
I am uncertain if 51780 refers to a seal or a plate. Typically, when obtaining these diagrams, a list is also provided, specifying the component number. If the diagnostic information can be located on the Parts souq, it is likely that a written definition may be obtained. https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/genuine/pick?c=Kia&model=Passenger&ssd=%24%2AKwHT7__woLKjoK6yqrP5-v-ks9WmupvFi9nbz8Paxau-0cXJmsDLjZWCxNvC1cfF6wAAAAB4fp8M%
Liveek
In 2022, I undertook the task of replacing the rear hub/bearing/ABS unit on my daughters' i20. I acquired the whole unit from eBay (carpartsinmotion) for an approximate cost of £50. The process included the removal of the wheel, disc, handbrake shoes, and four mounting bolts. Although the task itself was straightforward, it required a significant amount of time due to the extensive corrosion of the components, particularly in Scotland. Upon reviewing the partsinmotion ebay store, I have seen that they continue to offer these items for sale, with prices ranging from £35 to £50, depending on the specific automobile. To verify your component number, please go to the partsouq platform (link provided above). The issue with her automobile was only related to the ABS system, not the wheel bearing.
