What a squandering of your time and effort! Usually, you can find a plethora of repair parts and spares on eBay.
Following your advice, I was going to switch to a manual gearbox and cancel my insurance.
Plus, I'll keep the car for myself and get my daughter a bulletproof Honda Crv for the auto part. The problem is that there are no spares or repair parts for it anymore, so it's either going to the scrapyard or someone will be lucky enough to get it cheap from the insurance.
