I don't have the car yet, so I can't see what options are available on the head unit, but does the command center unit have aux in?

The head unit is normally configured to make Bluetooth phone calls, but not to stream music. Is it possible to stream music by plugging an adapter into an auxiliary socket, which is typically a 3.5 mm jack plug type? This setup was in my 2008 E Class.

Does your vehicle have COMAND or Audio20 installed? Which version, if any, is it?

Contrary to COMAND NTG2.5, which came standard with Bluetooth Telephony, COMAND NTG2 only offered it as an add-on that could be accessed through the center arm rest. Retrofitting COMAND NTG2.5 units—which are essentially obsolete at this point—should be easy to get for cheap on eBay if the car in question is a kerper.
