  1. Salutations, comrades, I am a newbie here, and my 2014 ML350 Bluetec has been giving me nothing but trouble. 'Soot content in the diesel particulare filter is improbable,' error code 111500, first appeared in December and was reportedly triggered by the differential pressure and exhaust back pressure sensors. This was the beginning of the problems. Both sensors were swapped out without success. I replaced the DPF since it was not renewing and the fuel consumption was quite high (23 litres per hundred). All issues up to this point have been resolved; fuel usage is now stable, and the CEL is no longer an issue. A few 300 km afterwards, an additional CEL appeared, and not long after that, the infamous Adblue Remaining Starts 10 notification. You may skip the "500 km remaining" and "16 starts remaining" Adblue messages and go right to the 10 starts. I filled up the Adblue since I felt it was low, but it didn't fix the CEL. And to top it all off, the exhaust began to strongly smoke a grayish-white colour, and the automobile had an odour that was completely foreign to me—neither diesel fuel nor ammonia, as far as I could tell. Everything calmed for another 200km when the fault codes (16CE00, 16CF00) were cleared, until CEL sprang up again. Official dealer recommended updating the ECU software since Adblue wasn't talking to it correctly. That fixed the Adblue-related codes, but now I'm getting 14CF00, which means "The positive control deviation during exhaust gas recirculation control is too high," and 178200, which means "Efficiency of SCR catalytic converter." Since the DPF problems began in December, the 14CF00 code has intermittently prompted the CEL; the dealer says I must now clean the EGR valve, pipes, etc. This is great with me, and I will have it done. My biggest concern is pinpointing the source of the smoke; is it related to the EGR problem, the Adblue problem, or the just installed DPF? Both possibilities are being considered because the smoke didn't begin until after the Adblue tank was filled, and it was also soon after the DPF was replaced. The smoke appears out of nowhere on both highways and city streets, lingers for two to five minutes, and then disappears. The dealer claims, "It's just DPF regeneration," but I don't buy it because the DPF is brand new and I've never had problems like this before the Adblue problems began. If you have any advice, please let me know.
  2. Also, it's great to see M80's trustworthy feedback.
  3. As a fellow OM642 Vito owner, it's great to see this post. However, I would prefer it if you could avoid the issues I've been experiencing. My vehicle is currently on 295K mls and has started dripping oil. It's at the "got to do something" stage, so I've decided to have the cooler seals replaced. The commercial mechanic is removing the engine to do this, and he claims that this is the safest way to avoid debris and grime from entering the turbo oil drain, which apparently feeds the crankshaft. D Just a heads up, I've relocated to Northern Ireland, so I haven't been able to find another Vito that I'm interested in purchasing. Regular oil changes are essential for longevity, and I'm not a fan of the ad blue versions or ones with a 20,000 service interval. So, I'm taking a chance, and we'll see what happens.
  4. The air bags can be replaced on your own, according to what I've read. How about the valve block and pipes? Oh, and I used to build a Cobra using an RV8 engine that I rebuilt myself. I also have a great assortment of ramps, trolley jacks, axle stands, and tools. Am I too old to do this? I'm 72 years old now. Your responses are greatly appreciated.
  5. Many thanks. It seems like you might aim the parts cannon at it. I am unsure as to whether the airbags on the left and right side are connected. Why does the car fall uniformly on both sides if one airbag or pipe is leaking? Assuming they are on distinct ones.
  6. I let my car sit for a few weeks without driving it, and when I got back, the rear suspension had fallen entirely. It hadn't done it in five days, but now it did it again. Starting the engine causes the suspension to pump up and remain in that position. Once it has landed, it will be level on all sides. Is anyone able to explain what's going on?
  7. I would strongly advise you to begin by obtaining a written copy of the warranty terms and conditions (e.g., a PDF download link). T&Cs will be in writing even for a Goodwill warranty. The next thing I'd do is get the paint warranty paperwork; I'm sure it's there. In my experience, MB is not forthcoming with this information; instead, customers are told various things when they ask about the warranty, and this is all done orally.
  8. Unfortunately, this is a typical problem with MBs that have solid red paint. According to other users, MB has said that their new paint guarantee is for 6 years. Unfortunately, I couldn't locate this information in writing. It is not guaranteed, but some members were successful in getting MB to provide a free bare-metal respray (excluding bumpers and other plastic trim components). I can only assume that selling the automobile in its present state would result in a substantial loss; if MB is unsuccessful, you may pursue other legal options, such as the courts or the ombudsman.
  9. Thank you for that. Which section is correct?
  10. Greetings, I seek counsel from all.I recently had a new exhaust installed; upon completion, the idle was irregular, however it performed adequately when driving.I have recently installed new spark plugs and coil packs, nevertheless the issue persists. Any suggestions?
  11. Antiquated in both respects 😄 Thank you for that; I will provide feedback as I get the opportunity to review it.

  14. I never considered checking behind the seat to see whether a cable had become dislodged. I will examine it tomorrow. I own a code reader; however, I have not yet connected it, since I believe it is only a low-quality device I inadvertently obtained. I will also attempt to use it. Will these sensors be easily replaceable? What is PAsoft?
  15. Does anybody understand why my airbag indicator remains illuminated after the removal and reinstallation process? I unplugged the battery, removed the airbag to repair the steering wheel, and reinstalled it; nevertheless, the airbag light remains lighted. I am uncertain of its relevance, however I inadvertently reclined the seat completely while attempting to access the area under the dashboard. Thank you for your assistance.
  16. I scheduled a health examination for £30 at MB Hemel Hempstead. It is in two weeks. These vehicles consistently present concerns!
  17. Greetings everyone, I encountered the subframe problem and delved further into it. I ponder why some vehicles seem to be impacted while others are not; were the subframes manufactured at distinct facilities to varying standards, resulting in a matter of fortunate or unfortunate luck? I own a 2013 W212 facelift with 100,000 miles, consistently parked outside, and it has no MOT warnings. Do you believe it is beneficial to have Merc do a visual health assessment? The corrosion seems to begin inside, leading me to question the efficacy of a visible health assessment.
  18. Procure the necessary items from MB. Newcastle Place it in the trunk, and you will only incur labour expenses (if the primary dealer permits it). I have been doing it for years.
