  1. Has the disc's warping been verified using a dial gauge? Are you experiencing a vibration in the steering wheel while braking? Instead of through your seat for the rear brakes. Exercise caution when diagnosing the issue, as warped discs may produce comparable braking vibrations caused by worn front control arms. I experienced same issue with the CLK, having replaced the MB disc and pads, but ultimately, it was determined to be the front control arms. As you mentioned, the fees associated with your discs can be prohibitively high if mistakes are made.
  2. Once it is repaired, you are familiar with the vehicle, hence I would retain it.
  3. Somewhat unfortunate on your initial BMW experience. Do not be discouraged by this unfavourable beginning to ownership; if the car was inexpensive, it was so for a reason, and I believe you have uncovered those reasons. I have a 2007 3 series diesel auto that the lacquer has failed on roof and bonnet that i must sell but i have been saying that since April but it is such a reliable car i have done nothing to sell it just given it a run now i even insured it again recently but 3 cars is 1 too many lol. subsequently
  4. Simultaneous oversteer and understeer? Is that not more accurately described as lateral movement?
  5. Is it feasible to use a non-S N18 engine and incorporate a turbocharger onto the long block?
  6. I purchased a car for my son’s 16th birthday, and it was an enjoyable vehicle. Regrettably, after around 2000 miles, it had failures of the high-pressure fuel pump, timing chain, water pump, and developed an oil leak. I was unable to address all of them immediately. The son was driving on the motorway when the water pump malfunctioned, causing the engine to overheat and resulting in a loss of compression. Seeking to do an engine replacement
