  1. I have made a decision to acquire it, and I could also provide photographs of the before and after stages. It is comparatively inexpensive for its value and, as significant, it is very user-friendly, which ultimately convinced me. Occasionally, males still remark, "nice car." I sometimes park it while Mrs. M shops for a few goods at the local supermarket, positioning it along a route away from most other cars, similar to other Mercedes-Benz owners. On warmer days, some others comment on it, just as I do at times. The most recent instance of a guy offering a compliment occurred in Eastbourne a few months prior. While on route to our hotel, the road was obstructed owing to construction. As I executed a three-point turn, I inquired whether it was legal to park behind the truck, to which he praised the automobile, greatly enhancing my day. In my opinion, the private plate enhances its perceived value, making it visually striking. This is just the second car I have owned (all previous vehicles were 12 to 18 months old at the time of purchase). Despite being almost 9 years old with 24,500 miles, it still seems impressive to me. I am inclined to switch to the new GLE; however, we never use the vehicle beyond local errands and sometimes transporting our grandchildren. I will upload pictures in a few weeks; I am 99% positive I will proceed with the purchase and execution.
  2. The vehicle would fit in the garage, but I would need to exit via the back hatch. Contemplating the vehicle washes. It occurs more often than annually on average. I have had it since its acquisition in 2016. During the first months, I bathed it monthly, and it remained clean both outside and inside. I had two Mercedes-Benz vehicles over many months, the prior being a C-Class model and the current one. However, it was vandalized a second time, which suggests to me that vandals are drawn to cleaner vehicles; so, I stopped washing it and only had it cleaned via the MB service at the 12-month mark. I have hosed the underside many times over the last three years. Since my departure from employment around 8.5 years ago, the average frequency of washes has been roughly once annually. The inside is vacuumed about every 16 months, if not less often. I maintain two sets of dustpans and brushes to clean the mats outside the vehicle. Typically, only Mrs. M and I occupy the car, and the seats are dusted and cleaned approximately every five to seven weeks. The dashboard and doors are wiped down every couple of weeks, while the interior of the windscreen is also attended to. I clean the exterior windows about four to five times annually and the interior windows twice a year. The boot is very clean, since I periodically remove and shake off the carpet sheet every few months. The vehicle has had little food consumption, we do not smoke, have no pets, and regard ourselves as quite clean. I use home sprays that purport to eliminate odors in the car throughout the summer. When the vehicle is parked in the driveway and becomes heated, I leave the windows open for a few hours to maintain freshness. I have applied leather polish to the seats about four times since acquiring the vehicle. The rain does the majority of the cleansing. I clean the outside of the wheel rims with a moist towel around four times annually. Indeed, when MB serves the vehicle and it has been cleaned and positioned outside the main entrance on occasion (I did not use MB for the past service), I momentarily ponder if it is my automobile. I will surely try the Turtle Wax shine product, and if it performs well, I will have the vehicle cleaned. EDIT: I regret not having it washed, as it represents hard-earned money from both myself and Mrs. M. However, it serves to deter vandals. I employed the same strategy with my previous vehicles, as all of them were slightly above what the average person drives. In my opinion, clean or shiny cars attract undesirable attention.

  4. Turtle Group - a reputable name Under 10 pounds, no police involvement necessary. I acquired my automobile, a new model, in 2016, with 24,000 miles on it. Cleaned annually, often by MB. I was cleaning bird droppings with damp kitchen paper and subsequently saw that the plastic had somewhat faded. What is your opinion? Have you used it for the cost without the need of a polisher or similar tools? I will attempt it, and if I get a score of at least 6 out of 10, I will proceed with our daughter's RCZ. What attracted my attention was its dual functionality and user-friendliness. Edit: I am uncertain about the status of the link from Halfords; I have included an image below in case it fails to function for you.
  5. Millbrooks Testing Ground has indeed evaluated a variety of vehicle components. 2- There was no need for it, since the C-class exhibited superior performance owing to its reduced weight and manual transmission.
  6. Thank you for your response. I have had a C-class (OM651) for nine years. I agree that it is quite loud, like a tractor; but, the OM651 is generally very reliable, which is why I purchased the GLC.👍
  7. Curiously enough… Administered the first application of Hydra cetane yesterday as a component of winter preparations. Significantly less expensive per liter than purchasing premium gasoline, therefore representing a more economical alternative to continuous premium fuel use. Incidentally, one of my sons is employed by a certain Formula 1 racing team and has previously worked at the Millbrook testing facility in the UK. We have already noted that earlier testing on gasoline additives were inconclusive or not publically available; hence, I am observing vehicle performance for future quantifiable 'imperial' assessments. 👍
  8. Apologies for the difficulties associated with using a tiny smartphone screen. This inquiry pertains directly to the engine oil additive that affects oil pathways and therefore the behavior of hydraulic lifters.
  9. Greetings,My 220D (OM651) often starts loudly when cold, however after about 15 seconds and upon reaching the end of the road, it becomes quieter.Has anybody used additives to mitigate minor lifter noise? Observed the Wynns Hydraulic Valve Lifter Treatment 325ml, which states...Restores the effective operation of hydraulic valve lifters. Reduces noise from hydraulic valve lifters. Inquiring if it is more deceptive than advantageous, since I am scheduled for service soon, making it an opportune moment with new engine oil.
  10. If you have a recall, it is most likely for a NOx sensor, which should be addressed free of charge by Mercedes. I had mine completed, although I was unaware of the recall until I checked online for its MOT, since the previous owner had not addressed it.
  11. Hello, have you received any recall information on the vehicle?
  12. In the USA and Canada, they were marketed as the 2017 model year, despite being manufactured and sold in early 2016. Europe was marketed as the 2016 model year.
  13. Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) are predominantly Valeo; economise significantly by acquiring the identical motor devoid of the Mercedes insignia. MB requested £700 for my S203 model. I purchased an aftermarket part for £90 from Autodoc.
  14. Is the fuse securely positioned in the fuse holder? Have you attempted to replace the fuse? (Apologies if this is apparent, but it may well be something so straightforward.)
  15. Activating the symbol displays the Guidance Volume controls. The sound choices for my automobile are located in the settings menu. If absent, the media system may need a reboot using the reset button, often concealed behind a tiny aperture in the fascia, generally next to the rotary volume control.
  16. I have recently inspected my vehicle. Displaying the map in full screen
  17. Last year, I incurred a cost of £80 for an OTA update. The download to USB was complimentary.
  18. The windscreen was finally installed by Autoglass, using the Fuyao brand. The technician said that they are installing more Fuyao windscreens than Pilkington, and that Fuyao is also used in other German automobiles. Thus far, everything is satisfactory; the clarity is likely due to the new windscreen. 😁 Autoglass additionally adjusted the wipers and automatic lighting; it is hoped that the windscreen matches the quality of the OEM Mercedes screen.
  19. Best regards, The appointment is scheduled for a couple of weeks from now, with Autoglass doing the work at their depot. I will address the calibration when dropping off the car.
  20. Will the adaptive headlights ILS and rain-sensing wipers on my car need calibration with the installation of a new windscreen?
  21. My insurance, Elephant, and Autoglass have declined to pay the expense of replacing the windscreen of my car owing to its age and the associated expenses. They said that their policy mandates the installation of generic/non-OEM windscreens. I will verify everything when collecting the car.
  22. I contacted the insurance, Elephant, who sent me to Autoglass. I would need to pay £115 for a standard windscreen. I insisted on an OEM-approved Mercedes branded windscreen, to which they responded that I must consult my insurance provider, since the excess is £115 in addition to £330 for the installation of an OEM screen. The vehicle is equipped with rain-sensing wipers and automatic lighting. Auto Glass has verified that they can do onsite calibration, eliminating the need to visit Mercedes. I am attempting to get my insurance to cover the OEM windscreen, however I am not optimistic owing to the vehicle's age. Should I go for the generic windscreen or incur the extra expenses for an OEM windscreen?
  23. I hope he honours his commitment and issues a refund; a bank transfer is equivalent to cash and offers no recourse. A debit card would have been a superior alternative.
  24. What method did you use to finance the car? Did you utilise a debit card in any capacity? Research the Sales of Goods Act; although I am not fully versed in its specifics, I understand that a dealer or trader is obligated to address related issues.
