First time buying a repo car is Lomassac Transport legit or scam?

Hi,

I recently bought a bimmer 320 from Lomassac Transport. They assured me that the car will be delivered to my home in Glasgow within a week. The price seemed quite reasonable, as the car is listed as a repossession. I’m feeling a bit nervous!
Does this sound too good to be true?

Cheers

If you want to check if a company is legitimate or just feel more secure, ask if you can come to view and test drive the car in person. Pay attention to their response, if they come up with excuses or try to avoid it, that’s a big red flag, and you should walk away. On the other hand, if they’re happy and even encourage you to pick up the car yourself, it’s a good sign the company is likely genuine. It’s not foolproof, but it’s a solid way to start assessing their credibility.

I actually called Lomassac Transport to see if I could visit their premises in Belfast and check the car myself. They were really open and invited me to come for a test drive, but after reading some positive reviews, I decided to go with their delivery service instead.

I popped into their place in Belfast last year when I was buying a Ford Ranger. Their office/warehouse is just around the corner from George Best Airport, so it was really easy to get to.
A bloke named James went through everything with me, and I had plenty of time to give the car a proper look over before making my decision.
Once I was happy, I paid by bank transfer since they don’t take cash. From my experience, they’re absolutely legit.

I bought a Tiguan from Lomassac late last year, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. They were completely upfront and transparent throughout the entire process, which really put me at ease. They took the time to explain how their payment system works, using a segregated account to hold the funds until I confirmed everything was in order.
The car was delivered on time, exactly as promised, and in spotless condition. The whole process felt professional and well-organised. If you’re considering buying from them, I’d definitely recommend it, they really exceeded my expectations.

My experience was a bit mixed, to be honest. I bought a Vauxhall Astra from them a last month. While the car was exactly as described mechanically, it had a few more scratches and cosmetic issues than I’d anticipated. Delivery took about two weeks instead of the promised one.
To their credit, they responded quickly to my concerns, offered a partial refund for the repairs, and apologised for the delay. They did make an effort to make things right, which I appreciated.

I recently used Lomassac Transport to ship some antique furniture I bought at auction. They were extremely professional and kept me updated every step of the way. Everything arrived without a scratch, and their customer service was excellent.

After reading through all the comments, I’m really glad to see that it’s still possible to buy a car online without it being a scam! It’s quite rare these days, so it’s refreshing to hear positive experiences like these.
