VodScanner
Greetings. I have had my Kia for a few months and have been aware of a sound problem with the right front door speaker and the dashboard tweeter. When I use the directional option on the radio to isolate both the door speaker and tweeter, both exhibit a deficiency in low-end frequencies, resulting in a noticeably weak sound compared to the other side. Initially, I am considering adhering to the topic presented here and completely revamping the system. The second option is to attempt to repair the system using OEM components, which are sufficiently affordable. However, identifying the problem is complex, since it may include the crossover in the amplifier. 1. Is it possible for the crossover to be installed on just one side? What do you suggest I should do? I work as a DJ and usually reside in my vehicle; the subpar sound quality is very frustrating, however I lack the expertise for a complete system renovation. Contacted Kia about a software update for the infotainment system. No information is appearing on the system. I will share my current software and firmware codes. I hope someone can cross-reference it for me. SOFTWARE - CD.EUR.SOP.V093.180816.DAU_A FIRMWARE - CD.EUR.281.180201.MICOM.DL Thank you very much. Squirrrel
I cannot address all your concerns, except about the software upgrade. Initially, the update site is accessible just for vehicles equipped with the in-dash Kia satellite navigation system; if the vehicle lacks this system, updates are exclusively available via the dealer. Secondly, if you own the Kia satellite navigation system, you must access the information screen on the device, locate the media system model number, and input it into the updater. VodScanner
I called, and the representative said that he is very certain the non-navigation infotainment system, which I own, would never get an upgrade. Therefore, software is not an option.
Istairde
Does your automobile has integrated navigation? If not, any upgrades must be obtained from the dealer.

VodScanner
Essentially, my primary objective is self-diagnosis, as indicated in my previous discussion. The auto electrician charges 60 euros for an investigation, which I will pursue when I have thoroughly contemplated the issue. The audio from the right side of the front door and speaker is too thin. Initially, I thought the door speaker was malfunctioning. However, if neither is producing low-end frequencies, I suspect it may be an amplifier problem. Is the amplifier's output connected directly to both speakers, or are the dashboard tweeter and door speaker interconnected? The input is sent to the door speaker first and then connected to the tweeter. Additionally, the amplifier.
Patagil
By "low end" about the tweeter, I refer to its significant deficiency in mid-range frequencies relative to the tweeter on the other side.
Patagil
In the absence of a JBL-equipped vehicle, the AVN system is responsible for powering the speakers. No external amplifier will be present. Speakers are a cost-effective and straightforward option that you would certainly choose if further equipment is required. An alternative second-hand AVN, not from JBL, might be procured and installed, which may not enhance the performance with the existing speakers. This would eliminate a problem with the device. VodScanner
I will remove the speakers to inspect the connections; if that proves ineffective, I will extract the radio and interchange the connections from right to left to see whether the issue transfers to the other side.
