I am unable to locate the appropriate auxiliary belt. Assistance is requested.

Greetings, everybody.

I acquired a 12-plate Kia Venga 1.6 Crdi (85KW as shown in the logbook) at an auction.

The serpentine belt emitted a cacophonous sound, and the air conditioning system was non-functional.

I brought the automobile to a garage where the expert informed me that the current belt fitted on the vehicle is incorrect and has been installed in the other direction. Additionally, the air conditioning system is not even linked.

He attempted to purchase tensioners and the belt from the nearby Kia dealership, but the package they sent based on the vehicle's registration number was entirely different to the engine installed in the car.

The garage diligently sent films and images to Kia, but unfortunately, they could not achieve any success.

Subsequently, we discovered an orange painting on the engine, indicating that it is a replacement engine sourced from a scrapyard. However, the only drawback is that the new engine does not match the original engine precisely.

The front pulley is entirely absent, and the metal bracket that secures the pulley is non-existent.

After cleaning the engine number, I discovered that the engine code (D4FB) matches the one recorded in the log book. However, I noticed that the physical appearance of the engine is distinct from what I seen online and elsewhere.

After reaching out to both Kia and Hyundai, both of which use the same engine, I received confirmation from Hyundai's customer care that the engine in question was not allocated to a Hyundai vehicle. However, the representatives from Kia were unable to provide me with such information. This was disappointing.

I have a buddy residing in a different nation who has verified via the engine number that this particular engine was intended to be sourced from a Kia, although manufactured prior to the year 2011.

I was fully committed to it. I need information on the specific belt that I should purchase.

Kindly refer to the included images.

Appreciation is extended for your kind gesture.

According to the information on Wikipedia, the Venga is equipped with the engine mentioned. However, it should be noted that the YN listed is a petrol engine, not a diesel engine. The engine located just under my words is the diesel engine.

The engine has a displacement of 1.6 litres and is identified as D4FB.
The 1.6 L (1,582 cc) U diesel engine, sometimes referred to as D4FB, is manufactured in the Žilina Kia plant in Slovakia. It is an enlarged variant of the 1.5 litres (1,493 cc) U series engine, with a bore size of 77.2 mm (3.04 in) compared to the original 75 mm (2.95 in). In 2009, the engine underwent improvements and was upgraded to the 1.6 U2 version. This new version had a different displacement and was capable of producing 126 horsepower (94 kilowatts; 128 metric horsepower) and 195 pound-feet (264 Newton-meters) of torque. The user's text is "[2]".

Based on appearances, it seems that the pulley and the aluminium component are intended for the air conditioning system. Based on the current configuration, it seems that not only has an engine replacement occurred, but your air conditioning system is also absent, since the compressor would typically be installed in that location.

Greetings, I have just visited the autodoc website and saw that they provide many poly v belts suitable for the 1.6 crdi engine. To find the correct belt, please provide the brand and model of your vehicle and pick the 85kw version.

Some listings are specified as "without air conditioning," indicating that they are shorter in length and meet your requirements. The belts are affordable and you have the option to purchase them locally by specifying the different component numbers.

Further narrowing down, it seems that belts are either 4 or 5 ribbed. Therefore, examine your pulley or inspect the underside of the belt to determine the number of ribs.

The ribbed one mentioned by Bosch is component number 1 987 947 961.

The item is a ribbed component with the part number 1 987 946 237.

Additionally, it is worth noting that there is a significant disparity in length between the two belts. Therefore, it is very improbable that the belt in question is the extremely short 4 ribbed one, and instead, it is more likely to be the latter option.

"Understood. I acknowledge the requirement for the compact Bosch belt, and I will make an effort to acquire one." Furthermore, the functioning of the air conditioning is of little concern to me; my primary objective is to verify the car's ability to resume operation.

We appreciate your assistance in resolving my issue.

I will provide you with regular updates about the progress.

Thank you for your kind words!
