  1. Without a fault code scan, you'd have to guess, which may be costly.
  2. It's clearly a big issue when it takes three weeks to clog a dpf. Honestly, I'd give it back to them.
  3. ^^ They often "go walkabout" (often in the middle of the night)
  4. I also advocate for the consistent use of the same washer fluid. I replenish the bottle prior to a service to avoid contamination from an alternative mixture. The dealer leaves a little concentration bottle in the vehicle following the service.
  5. I possess the same model and year of the vehicle, although I have not encountered this issue; the car automatically locks itself if not secured with the key fob after use. It appears that the issue with the boot may stem from a defective micro switch on the handle or a potentially severed wire within the wiring loom near the hinge, as the repeated opening and closing of the boot might lead to wire damage. Simply retract the rubber boot on the loom to inspect the wires.
  6. Thank you for your prompt response. Did you obtain a recent MOT and service at the time of acquisition?
  7. Greetings, I acquired a Kia Assured vehicle from a "Kia approved" franchise outlet in London. The vehicle was listed as "Kia Assured" on the official Kia website. It is my understanding that all Kia Assured vehicles are entitled to identical perks. The dealership informed me that they do not offer "driveaway insurance," necessitating payment for coverage on the day I got the vehicle. Is that typical? Is the franchise permitted to eliminate some advantages from the Kia Assured list? They stated that I do not own the Β£250 voucher for my initial insurance claim; nonetheless, I obtained an email from Kia confirming that I am entitled to this advantage and should not overlook it. Ultimately, when purchasing the vehicle, the dealer informed me that they had conducted a recent MOT and servicing. However, they did not comply, prompting me to request their immediate action. Is it customary to exhibit such poor transparency and perhaps dishonesty regarding MOT and servicing? Thank you.
  8. The vacuum pump maintained a vacuum for 45 minutes but lost charge overnight. Upon pressurising the system with air, a nitrogen leak in the evaporator was ultimately identified.
  9. There is invariably an exception. I presume they were not a franchised dealer.
  10. Generally, if the vehicle requires servicing and you intend to trade it to a dealer, it is not advisable to incur the expense of servicing. If you are pursuing a private sale, the opposite applies. Unusual defects will deter private buyers, who are likely to assume that repairs have not been undertaken due to their high cost. Dealers may exhibit varying levels of worry.
  11. 'Capable' is the pivotal term in this context - MB opted to establish it as a permanent display, replacing the ambient temperature indicator; nevertheless, there is no obligation to maintain it as a permanent feature - this decision rests with MB. I owned several vehicles (non-MB) equipped with digital screens that allow toggling between mph and km/h, so fulfilling the legal need. It is unnecessary to have it permanently shown. Upon executing the 'UK Delete' modification (i.e., reverting the instrument cluster from UK specifications to non-UK), the vehicle remains compliant with UK regulations, as it retains the functionality to display speed in km/h, selectable via the instrument cluster menu. Nonetheless, as previously mentioned, this action will inhibit the use of the LCD display in the instrument cluster for any other purposes, perhaps prompting MB to provide this UK option for convenience. However, the vehicle will remain compliant with UK regulations despite using the non-MB variant of the instrument cluster.
  12. It is not feasible to accomplish it. In UK vehicles, this location on the instrument cluster provides a constant display of the current speed in kilometres per hour. On vehicles not manufactured in the UK, this location on the instrument cluster indicates the ambient temperature. In UK vehicles, the ambient temperature must be accessed through the instrument cluster menus, as it cannot be permanently displayed at all times. For the past 20 years, MB has ceased equipping their vehicles with speedometers featuring dual dials, one for miles per hour and the other for kilometres per hour. Reverting the instrument cluster from UK to non-UK configuration is feasible; however, this modification will result in the km/h display being substituted with a constant ambient temperature display, necessitating the services of a professional equipped with an MB STAR diagnostic computer. This will evidently provide little assistance to you. You can select to display the current speed (in mph) on the central LCD of the instrument cluster from the menu; however, this will preclude the use of the LCD for any other functions, such as navigation instructions or mpg display
  13. Indeed, those are the individuals in question.
  14. As I am uncertain about what to search for, I kindly request the part number. Thank you
  15. Does anyone possess the part number or a link, please? I have damaged one of the upper fittings.
  16. I experienced this issue as well. The charging brick was replaced under warranty, resolving the issue.
  17. @Captiva, Is there an MB expert located near Tonbridge?
  18. Does it resonate with you?
  19. The blades are rotating on the radiator fan.
  20. I have just seen a YouTube video on the coolant technique. Summing numerical values, among other tasks. Impressive. No smoke emanating from the dipstick. I will inspect the engine fan presently. I appreciate your attention about this matter. Thank you.
  21. I do not know the temperature. No indicator lights Absence of Limp mode. The oil cap of the car has not been removed for 11 months. The exterior surface of the coolant tank seems unusually hot, a sensation I have not before experienced, leading me to question its normalcy. I suspect it needs an oil change, since almost a year has elapsed. Consequently, if the oil level is low, the coolant temperature will increase. The hazy vapour emanating from the top may be dampness. There are no concerns with the automobile save for a burning rubber smell and the heated coolant reservoir. It may be the radiator. I want reassurance or confirmation of the normalcy of this situation.
  22. LOL it is heated to the touch. The outside of the coolant tank feels hot to the touch.
