  1. I discovered an image from a past edition several years ago, and I am considering the possibility that it may not have been featured on the front cover. Instead, it appears to be a depiction of the rear. This conclusion is based on my observation of a half-shaft visible in the picture. Consequently, I will need to investigate further to determine its placement on the front. I hope that this examination will yield results that are as evident as the current observation. However, it appears that the Swindon Mercedes dealership failed to recognise this apparent fact, which is quite frustrating.

Regarding the local expert, the issue arises when I had some work done in Cheltenham and requested them to address the incorrect time on the comand system/satnav. It was later discovered that this was a recognised fault related to the GPS. The car returned with various unusual problems, such as the limiter functioning but no dashboard display, and several components, like the UK mode delete, being improperly installed. It took Richard more than 2 hours to rectify the issues. Additionally, the incorrect gearbox code had been installed, and he mentioned that you were fortunate that the car still runs. The exact nature of the repairs performed by the previous service provider remains unknown, and understandably, you have not returned to them since. At another establishment near my residence that employs a rating system, I entrusted them with the task of rectifying a malfunctioning parking sensor in my vehicle. However, upon its return, I discovered that the same defect persisted, indicating that they had mistakenly replaced the incorrect sensor. Consequently, I am disinclined to use their services in the future. However, they may have the capability to get the sensor data for me.

  6. I am now experiencing a problem with the lack of levelling in my headlights and want assistance. I have scheduled an appointment with a local garage that I trust for Friday morning, but they possess little experience about this particular system. Therefore, I am seeking support and guidance here in order to get useful information that I can either use myself or relay to the garage. Car History: In 2005 or 2006, a C350 Coupe of the 203 variety was produced. The Fog Lights are equipped with Bi-Xenons and have the cornering option activated. In the past, I encountered a similar issue where the Mercedes dealership made an error by manually adjusting the lights, claiming it was not their mistake. However, it was later discovered by a local garage, while inspecting another matter, that the sensor bracket on the front suspension had actually broken. They repaired it and everything was satisfactory. Skipping forward to last week, I drove with a significant load in the vehicle. During that drive, I noticed that the lights were dim, which I suspected may be attributed to the weight. Empirical data collected since...... The lighting is dim. When the lights are turned on, they seem to move up and down, but occasionally they simply go up and don't move back down, similar to a vehicle that is low in the front. The N/S light is significantly lower and its movement is difficult to discern. When the car is turned off, a visual examination of the Bi-Xenon unit at the front of the car reveals that the N/S light is indeed lower. The internal unit that moves is in close proximity to the surrounding reflective material/shroud, while the O/S light has a small gap. I need assistance regarding a potential sensor issue. The N/S unit is significantly lower and may not be functioning properly. It is concerning that both units were working fine until last week, and it is peculiar to now have two separate faults. This situation raises questions about the accuracy of the initial setup during the previous repair, especially considering the dealership's involvement in manual adjustment and the presence of a sensor issue as the underlying cause. Is there a prescribed sequence of steps to establish an initial baseline for the headlights during installation, considering that the lights need to be adjustable in both directions? Any guidance on the sensors would be very appreciated. Is it necessary to apply lubrication to the arms/links? Are there two sensors, one located in the front and one in the back? Can the headlights be adjusted manually temporarily? From an electrical circuit perspective, are all the circuits regulated by a single fuse? The user did not provide any text. I have not yet had the opportunity to consult the compact fuse box manual, but I am aware that there are three fuse boxes present in this structure. Thank you in advance.

It requires caution since there are many wires connected to it. However, just as I was about to inspect it, it began to rain, so I will have to postpone the task. Excellent post nevertheless. Removing the panel is somewhat manageable, but accessing the internal components to identify the issue and then using tools and hands to resolve it is more challenging. I am only hoping that in my situation, it is only the spring that has been dislodged once again, rather than any structural damage that requires replacement.
  10. Since the introduction of stop/start technology, some batteries have been shown to fail within a period of 3 to 4 years, even if the feature is off and remains unused. For some unknown reason, I have never had to replace the battery in any of my automobiles. Even my last CLK, which was 13 years old, still had its original battery. Recently, my C Class and SLC vehicles need battery replacements before reaching the age of 4. Similarly, both my wife's and daughter's Nissans had their batteries changed under warranty before reaching the age of 3. There are too many occurrences for it to be a mere coincidence.

  12. Based on my experience with two distinct Mercedes vehicles, I can confidently state that just replacing the batteries without any other actions has no significant impact.
  13. I have changed the batteries for both the C Class and SLC models without resetting any components. I just detached the old batteries and installed the new ones. I have not had any issues with them since then, which was around 3 or 4 years ago.
