  2. Hey everyone, I’m on looking for a first car for my daughter's birthday and noticed a 2022 Fiat 500 on FB Marketplace posted by Lamsam Logistics. At first blush I thought I was dealing with a private seller, but it turns out I’ve stumbled upon a Belfast based transport company that’s also in the business of selling repossessed vehicles. They’ve thrown their hat in the ring with home delivery to Somerset, promising it’ll be on your doorstep in a week to ten days. That all sounds like pie in the sky but I’m feeling a bit like a cat on a hot tin roof about shelling out cash before laying my eyes on the car. Has anyone walked this road before? Or did you actually bite the bullet and buy from them? I’m all ears to get the lowdown on the process, payment, and vehicle details. Your thoughts would be worth their weight in gold.
  3. fully autonomous. skipped the main dealer after just a few vehicles. my wife's car, which I purchased for her from a dealership, has been going to merc, and two cars that I purchased brand new while they were still under warranty. There was a time when I went to the Honda dealer with my Honda.
  4. What I recently spent on diff service was as follows: 370 GBP for gearbox service, 79 GBP for electronic diff oil change, 53 GBP for brake fluid change and 340 GBP for AMG Petronas oil change.
  5. The ZF transmission's torque converter isn't the problem; it's the wet clutch. Under typical operating conditions, the wet clutch and gearbox share fluid, which results in the emission of numerous microscopic particles. That is why it is advised to change the fluid and filter more frequently.
  6. One of the other dealers responded to my request for bids with a jaw-dropping offer of 1,380 euros, which is one third of the first dealer's total. The offer was completely specified in writing. Completely out of control, therefore I've now scheduled an appointment with them.
  7. E63, 2019 with 30,000 miles: an A-service comprising ATF, two differentials, and plugs was quoted at £1950 by my local dealer last week. It provides a ballpark figure, but I have no idea why it included the extras in the price (maybe because they were completed ahead of schedule). Having said that, not all garages provide complimentary coffee and wifi.
  8. Plus, to be really honest with MB, even though BWM claims their automatic gearbox is "sealed for life," ZF suggests changing the oil and filter at approximately 60,000 miles. Actually, maybe with a hint of cynicism, BMW is more than happy to sell you the refresh kit to accomplish the task they claim isn't necessary 🙄.
  9. You risk damaging your vehicle if you disregard the requirement to change the oil in the differential and gearbox; there's a purpose to doing so that goes beyond merely accumulating mileage.
  10. As far as parts go, that is an astronomically expensive quote. I had the ATF, front and rear diff fluids changed in September at an independent Mercedes specialist for a third of that price. I got the car serviced in September. You might expect a hefty sum when you factor in the dealers' 250 Euro per hour work charge. To get the ATF, differentials, and plugs done, I would take it to the dealer for the A service and then locate a Star specialist who can update the DSB. A lot less money will be spent.
  11. At 20,000 kilometres, my 07/2022 E63S was last serviced with a B service in February 2025. Now, twelve months later, at 25,000 kilometres, I am scheduled for an A4 service, as per the timetable. This morning, I was advised that, due to the vehicle's age (four years), I would need to change the A oil as well as the spark plugs, gearbox oil, differential oil, and transfercase oil. The total cost of these parts would be three thousand euros...! Having to change all this at this low miles is alarming to me because I am used to driving BMW M cars with the ZF transmission. I am inclined to just get the oil changed and disregard the rest. Are the pricing (not UK ones, I know) reasonable in comparison to what you have been quoted, and does the above seem to be accurate?
  12. After I had mine fitted, my friend bought a 2016 Golf, so I placed an order for one and had it fixed as well. It worked perfectly! Reiterating the previous point, I believe there is an option to utilise OEM auto Bluetooth. I used this method, and it was successful even without the included microphone and aux line. Having said that, the screen resolution of the 2011 ProNav BMW is substantially higher than that of the 2016 Golf. There are a plethora of fitting procedure how-tos on YouTube.
  13. Pleasure to hear that, Forsh. Go through the pain. While my son's 92 lacks bluetooth, my 93 does. It might just be me, but reversing with dark windows and tiny mirrors is really blinding, especially at night. I didn't apply the tint because it was far too dark. Maybe I'll give in to the annoyance of setting up a reverse camera.
  14. I have been using it since June, and I am quite pleased with it. I refrained from installing a camera because I am not good at handling the connections. I don't know what the big deal is if you don't have enhanced Bluetooth; I didn't need to fit the microphone or the aux wire because I had it before. Even though it's my first time using CarPlay on a touchscreen, I despise using them in vehicles and find that iDrive is a good fit for them. Without reservation, I suggest it.
  15. As I consider my options, my wife says I should just accept the error numbers and go on. My problem is that there are a lot of cost and comparison options, and the car is worth fifteen thousand dollars. It is my intention to equip two 2010 LCI vehicles equipped with cic head units with wireless, hands-free technology and a rearview camera. The MMI from BimmerTech costs 774US ($1085.85AU) and that includes the LCI upgrade, which adds 200US dollars (280AU) for a camera. 12-month guarantee with +, +, and price-escalating options. Based on the rest of the site, it will be an upgrade, however I'm not sure if shipping is included. This is undeniably a high-quality device, but the fact that it is American-made gives it a certain sting. No mention of camera functionality, 12 months warranty, and Mr12V costs 449 US (629 Aus). It seems to be a reliable mid-range device assuming it can handle a camera. No shipping costs. Realism is increasing in the United States. The AliExpress 191US (269au) with a built-in camera has finally touched down. With a 6-month guarantee. Compared to eBay, AliExpress has better customer service and a 75% success rate. Performs all of the functions that the +++ MMI is said to perform. So seeking for user comments on any.
  16. Greetings everyone, I would greatly appreciate it if someone could send me with an EU Image version because I am experiencing the exact same problem with my head unit.
  17. The only thing that doesn't work is the maps DVD, and the US maps don't have any purpose in the EU. Other than that, everyone is good to go.

  19. My score is 3.5, haha. Due to the lack of changes to this model over the past four years, I am simply seeking updated maps.
  20. yeah, I've tried everything. Even though the command reads all the formats, it still says "unknown format" on both the original and copied map discs. I've tried with versions 18, 11, and 10, and it still doesn't work. So, it seems like the only way ahead is to create an image. I am able to provide US for a trade.
  21. Have you considered erasing the entire disc? My guess is that the system recreates everything and the disc just stores individual records and maps. Believe me when I say this isn't true. Please share the photograph if you come across one.
  22. Hey there! So, like I said in the title, I replaced out a broken HDD in my 06 W221 S-class with a working one. The problem is that I only had the US version image, and the command won't accept the maps DVD. I'm looking for the EU image. Anybody got any ideas? I don't care if it's ancient if it still works.
